Installation

China: Through the Lens of John Thomson 1868 – 1872

An exhibition of Chinese cultural history with 108 photographs in white contemporary frames. 25 exhibits are life-size.

English and Chinese captions, introduction panels, promotion leaflet text and design are available.

A selection can be made to suit gallery size and layout.

As a stand-alone exhibition or objects from the museum’s own collection can be displayed alongside. We have successful examples of installing textiles or Qing artefacts – the photographs bring these objects to life.

There is a huge potential for creating learning programmes for diverse audiences and age groups – from introducing photography or Chinese culture to school children to international academic conferences.
