John Thomson is one of 19th century’s greatest photographers, a pioneer of photojournalism. Exhibitions drawn from the renowned collection at the Wellcome Library, London.

The China exhibition opened in Beijing April 2009 at the Beijing World Art Museum and toured to Fujian and Guangdong. The 2010 European tour opened at the Liverpool Maritime Museum, travelled to the Burrell Collection, Glasgow, the Museum of East Asian Antiquities, Stockholm, Sweden, the Chester Beatty Collection, Dublin.
